Stress
Down Day
Thursday 01 February is the Samaritans’ official Stress Down Day.
They are encouraging us all to give money to charity to wear our slippers to
work, so it
seems a good opportunity for us all to take a moment to relax and reflect on the
stressors we find creeping in to our work and home lives. All too often we let
the stress of work build up and affect our home lives and indeed, vice versa.
As a consultant or coach, you will be aware of the effects of stress on your
clients – maybe even yourself. But how do you measure stress in a pressured
environment?
Many of you will be aware of our product, StressScan. StressScan provides targeted information about
specific lifestyle and health behaviours that might be contributing to
stress-related illnesses.
This validated self-report inventory measures critical stress, lifestyle
management and coping scales and generates a comprehensive feedback report
summarising results and providing information for optimising well-being.
The report also provides a summary of individual risk areas and resources, with
an action plan that can be used to reduce stress levels.
StressScan has been used in a number of organisations where stress has been
identified as a real problem. Studies have shown that companies who
measure and address Stress levels have increased staff retention and
satisfaction.
If you are interested in finding out more about StressScan or discussing the
different ways in which StressScan can be used, please do
get in touch.
Meanwhile, we hope that both you and your customers get the opportunity to take
some time to relax on Thursday.
